The house at Upper Court Road was originally designed and built in 1938 by Elie Mayorcas. The brief was to fully renovate this house from its poor state into a sustainable retro-fit, yet to be sensitive to its 1930s modernist roots.

The works included insulation, high performance glazing, efficient space heating and inclusion of elements necessary for 21st Century living. The main new element of the build is the enlarged cantilevered galvanised steel balcony with structural glass balustrade offering magnificent views of the surrounding landscape.
