Rushey Green

Previously an old ramshackle second-hand cooker shop, our client intended to redevelop the site as part of their pension portfolio. Located within the busy Catford High Street it was crucial that to achieve planning permission the design acknowledged the local topography and offered a positive contribution to the street.

We were commissioned for a planning only outcome to redevelop the site, with the aim of maximizing the sales potential of the site. We eventually proposed six residential units above a retail space at the ground floor.

After going in front of a planning committee RDA successfully achieved planning permission for a proposal which would provide six new homes on the sought-after high street and contribute positively to the architectural character of the streetscape. The positive response to our design during the hearing ensured that when our client came to sell the property for development, alongside our scheme, the value increased threefold.
