Richard Dudzicki is the founder and director of RDA Architects, an award winning practice based in South East London specialising in residential architecture, Passivhaus, retrofit and housing on challenging brownfield and constrained sites.

After working on large commercial projects in Hong Kong and across Asia, Richard established RDA over 30 years ago. With more than 300 projects undertaken by the practice, his experience spans improvements to existing homes, deep retrofits and new Passivhaus buildings.

Richard is particularly passionate about finding opportunities for housing on London’s difficult and overlooked sites. His approach combines practical construction knowledge with an understanding of how people live, creating homes that use less energy and make thoughtful use of limited space. In existing buildings, he focuses on improving comfort and performance while preserving architectural character.

He serves as a sustainability judge for the RIBA London Awards and was lead judge for the sustainability category at the British Homes Awards 2026, having also judged the category in 2025. He leads RDA roundtables at NLA, bringing together housing leaders to discuss the challenges of delivering homes on constrained sites.



Richard has contributed to NLA’s Expert Panel on Retrofit & Conservation and authored an EnerPHit module for Architecture Today’s School of Specification. RDA has been included in the Regenerative Architecture Index for two consecutive years. Through London Festival of Architecture events and traineeships at the practice, he shares practical knowledge and supports young people entering the profession.

Outside architecture, Richard is a keen cyclist and enjoys tinkering with cars.
